Misread airport sign as ONCE YOU PASS THIS POINT YOU MUST CONTINUE TO EXIST. Sleepily wondered what problem it was meant to solve.

I think there should be an Occupy Gallifrey. "Because 0.000001% of the people have 99.99999% of the Time."

With all that GO excitement I felt compelled to revisit this pic.
I met Neil at Worldcon 2009 and gave him this drawing. As he explains at the beginning of this vid, people tend to believe that he wrote the plot and Terry Pratchett scattered jokes behind him. Hence.via Art is not a thing; it is a way.

American Gods heading to HBO in 2013

Brit author Neil Gaiman is set to shepherd his much-loved novel American Gods onto TV screens in 2013.

Though as recently as March this year Gaiman was talking about Gods being turned into a movie, the author has struck a deal with co-producers Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman and their production company Playtone.

American Gods is being planned as a six season TV show, with each season consisting of 10-12 hour-long episodes.

The budget’s nothing to be sniffed at either, with each season given a money bag containing $35-40m. Nothing compared to The Pacific’s $225m, but way above anything else on network television.

“There are some crazy things in American Gods,” says Goetzman, justifying that budget. “We’ll probably be doing more effects in there than has been done on a television series.”

oh i gotz chillz baby…they better do it fucking justice.

People think dreams aren’t real just because they aren’t made of matter, of particles. Dreams are real. But they are made of viewpoints, of images, of memories and puns and lost hopes

"The trouble with imagining a book I would never write is that when I think of it, I think 'but I could WRITE that...'

So it would have to be a book of books I would never write. A book of ideas I would never have. A book of things I would never do in prose or in fiction. A book of things that should have remained unwritten, fragments and dreams and moments. Secrets too terrible to be learned. Things that would destroy me if I knew them, or hurt my friends. It would contain the secret name of God, and tell you how to pronounce that name.

It would be called IF YOU READ THIS BOOK THE WORLD WILL END."

.....slash fiction is basically erotic fan fiction, normally TV series based, pairing off two (er or more I suppose) members of the same sex who don't normally couple for the cameras. From the "/" mark in the middle of "Kirk/Spock" or "K/S" fiction, which is where it all started. ("But Spock," said Kirk, huskily, realising, finally, irrevocably, what his true self had been trying to tell him ever since the beginning of season one, "it's so huge. And it's green." "And it would be logical for you to... touch it, Captain," said Spock. And so on. It's normally written by extremely nice ladies. I have several very sane, respected, and respectable friends who write slash fiction, and do not try to make me read it.)

bwahaha.
That "example" he gave. Still, there's even worse stuff out there. Sturgeon's Law at work. Combine that with Rule 34, imagine the results, and try not to spork your brains out. XD
